Big Girls Don't Cry:
"According to Bob Crewe, he was dozing off in his Manhattan home with the television on when he awoke to see Payne manhandling Fleming in Slightly Scarlet, a 1956 film noir based on a James M. Cain story. The line is heard in that film." - Wikipedia

Twistin' the Night Away is the eighth studio album by American singer-songwriter Sam Cooke. Produced by Hugo & Luigi, the album was released in April 1962 in the United States by RCA Victor. Twistin' the Night Away primarily capitalizes on the twist phenomenon and as a result became one of Cooke's most successful LPs, becoming his second to chart and creating a string of chart successes.
Bruce Eder of Allmusic wrote that while Cooke was "shoehorned" into doing twist numbers, it remains nevertheless "one of the great dance albums of its period," and "a brilliant soul album as well, which is why it holds up 40 years later." Melody Maker wrote that "Cooke was unique because he was one of the first black artists to keep a tight hand on the direction of his career and the profits thereof," calling the album's hit single a "dance-craze classic." - Wikipedia

Surfin' U.S.A. is the second studio album by the American rock band the Beach Boys, released March 25, 1963 on Capitol Records.
The majority of the album's recording commenced in the first week of 1963, three months after the release of Surfin' Safari. Like the group's debut album, production was credited ostensibly to Capitol's representative for Artists and Repertoire, Nick Venet, although bandleader Brian Wilson was heavily involved in the album's composition. The album marks the beginning of his practice to doubletrack vocals, resulting in a fuller sound. - Wikipedia
A particular favourite of mine is the less well known Beach Boys track Lonely Sea

You Better Move On by Arthur Alexander, released on Dot in 1962.
You Better Move On Review by Ron Wynn
Arthur Alexander was a wonderful deep soul and country-influenced singer. He could express the urgency and longing of a soul artist and tell a story with the sensitivity and innocence of a great country artist. The title track as well as the other cuts on this greatest-hits work were his finest from the '60s. "Anna" and "You Better Move On" were turned into bigger hits by the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.

You're Mine You is a 1962 studio album by the American jazz singer Sarah Vaughan, orchestrated and conducted by Quincy Jones.
The Allmusic review by Scott Yanow awarded the album three stars and said that "Vaughan's voice is typically wondrous and sometimes a bit excessive on the ballads (some may find her slightly overblown version of 'Maria' a bit difficult to sit through) but in top form on the more swinging numbers." - Wikipedia

Hello Young Lovers is a studio album by singer Nancy Wilson issued in July 1962 on Capitol Records.
Hello Young Lovers was produced by Tom Morgan and arranged by Milt Raskin. George Shearing also arranged the strings and played harpsichord on the LP.
Billboard magazine noted that she "shows off her own, stylish way with a pop song on this album cover over a lush string choir" and declared that the "Lass does a fine job here". - Wikipedia

...And Then I Wrote is the debut studio album by country singer Willie Nelson, recorded during August and September 1962 and released through Liberty Records.
Nelson later recalled
First few days found me a little uneasy. I had my guitar, a pencil, and a blank notebook. Hank might throw out an idea, hoping it might spark something in me. When that didn't work, he might tell me a joke, or I might tell him one, hoping that joking would lead to some kind of song. It didn't...And one afternoon, after we had just sat around throwing the bull, he said, "I'm going to the office to make a few calls. You work on something by yourself."
By the time Cochran had returned from his phone call Nelson had written "Hello Walls" and sang it for him. "It's worth a fuckin' fortune," Cochran responded, adding, "Willie, my friend, you just wrote a hit."
