#ChildhoodToys #1960sChildhood
A friend reminded me of this toy. No way my parents bought it for us, had to be a hand-me-down or a relative's purchase.
We freaking LOVED it.
UNTIL---my brother---of course---fed it corn and milk, because it HAD to be hungry. Why the manufacturers gave it a hole in it's mouth I don't know, or he made one, maybe.
You can imagine the smell after a bit---we stopped riding it and jostling all that goop and my mom had a hard time figuring out where that stick was coming from. We were dairy farmers, there was always some stink around but not inside!
My dad cut the belly open enough to wash it out, but it never was the same. It became an outside horsey, and we played "farm" with it (go figure!) but eventually we stopped riding it.
