The thing is that the movie is based on an actual account of an Arab scholar encountering Norse traders. Well, the first fifteen minutes or so. Weird movie.
Going from Arabic to Greek to Latin with a Norse-speaking character is one of the most underappreciated parts of an under appreciated movie.
