The #11YearOld kid seems to be in the right age to be able to grasp some more details of the Holocaust.
Today I told her about the #EveryNameCounts project and suggested we contribute a bit to it.
At first I thought we would maybe type out the details from one file. But she wanted to continue after the first, and the second, so in the end we did three.
It does take some time and the scans are often hard to read. But it felt good to do something, even something tiny.
So now my kid nows about the triangle symbols. She has heard some names of concentration camps. She has seen that one person was originally from Wienna and another from Luxembourg - the sheer vastness of the area the Nazis terrorized.
I like that after you finish one form, a text appears that kind of tells the story of the person; with the detailes you just typed filled in. And this text is not "impartial" - it does name the atrocities of the Nazis as such. I think this is very good.
