Snap with #110film in the #NYC #subway.

The light underground is a decently constant f2 at 1/30 for ISO 100. It might even veer on the side of overexposure if there are alternate sources of light available, like directly in the trains or under certain ads.

I'm surprised the frame came out almost exactly as I intended - getting these ice cream sandwiches of cameras oriented correctly had been a bear of a task.

Another sunny, quiet afternoon. This one's from a different #110film camera, a #vitoret110 EL. It's probably the most point-and-shoot like of all the 110 cameras I've used (outside the cheaper box cam affairs), a fixed focus camera with choice of f5.6 or f11. Shutter speed is decided by the camera electronically, though from the results I'm looking at it tends to meter very well even in tricky scenes.

I can see the appeal of a focus-free multi glass lens camera for the casual shooter, though its much vaunted glass lens does not really perform much better than the aspheric plastic elements in the Kodak Ektramax.

Kind of funny considering the vitoret was meant as an everyperson camera, and the Ektramax was a de-facto Kodak flagship for a brand new film range (110).

#110film capture of a sunset clearing after a rainy day. It's just like me to get a light leak and film fold for the final shot of the roll like this :/

#110film photo of my humble warehouse lab. I think this was from testing #lomomatic110 in the darkly lit hallway.

The studio doesn't have a window or ventilation of any kind, which is what I can afford on a warehouse salary. Alas, molecular biology, working class or otherwise, needs lab space!

Quick #110film snap, just before the sunrise in #nyc.

I chortled at this one. Night time flash shot of #lomomatic110, of a snowman I swear looks a lot more whimsical in person.

I forgot I had a red filter in the flash, which might explain some of the underexposure.

Peeking through. 6AM with Ektramax on #110film

One of the few #110film shots I was able to take during the recent NYC snow storm. #Lomomatic110 really pulled through in the middle of heavy snow - I took out my camera without thinking, only to realize the snow's heavy enough to maybe damage the electronics.

Curtains of buildings in #NYC often lightly fade away under cover of heavy snow or rain. I love those moments when the whole city turns into a hazy ink wash painting, like an old sumukhwa frame.

I think I'll really miss this scene in a few months.

Walking through Queens, probably from last summer.

We have high wind warnings and rain storms in the city right now, but I feel like there's already a hint of Spring in the air. Some vague sense of warmth and life.

More #110film shot of the Irving Place building lamps, dark hours before the sunrise.

I'm delighted to find a camera capable of properly rendering lit night scenes without overexposing and shaking. Such a shame similar film cameras aren't made anymore - quite crazy considering our choice of film ISOs are essentially known quantity. And the Ektramax is a typical product of the 70s, despite the great lens and capability - it's designed to be disposable, to break and be replaced wholly. So regardless of how I handle the camera it's days are numbered (in fact it already split open by the seams and I had to bang it together into a single camera again).
