Had the pre-race briefing for the 100 mile race I'm running next weekend. The race director seemed to assume we were all familiar with the Western States course and aid stations for some reason. Lots of references like "it'll be like coming into Forest Hill". Maybe that means something, but not to me.
As a tribute to Miles Davis who turns 100 today, I'm listening to N.W.A.'s "100 Miles and Runnin'".
PS: I was off by one month. Today is Miles' birthday. So "100 Miles and Runnin'" by Warren G, Raekwon & Nate Dogg it is.
My training for the 100miles in August starts next week. For that, I try some recommendations from Jason Koop:
- Focus on Intervals and Tempo at the beginning and endurance at the end of the plan
- Start the training block with the hardest workout and then reduce to the next week
See how this works for me. Has anyone tested it?
