If you haven't heard, use ecc memory to prevent wrong data from being written, causing a read to later not validate correctly because the checksum does not match.

Got my #ZFS data partition booting of encrypted keys as well. Transferring all the data over to ZFS. Feeling stupid to not have done this earlier, especially when I lost some SQL backups to data corruption earlier. 🤦
I finally got my full disk encrypted root partition to boot using #SecureBoot. The issue was that the motherboard was in compatibility mode and I couldn't get it to boot with secure mode properly. It works.
So I gotta say doing the whole 100days thing has actually given me some pretty good momentum that I was missing previously.. Even if some days it's just look at stuff, run updates, and generally kick tires on things it adds up.
So yeah shout-out to #100daysofhomelab.
I've been keeping a log.. definitely no reason for anybody to look at it but just sharing for inspiration.. yay yah I'm only 10 days in.

I’ll just log mundane things here and update this post. Cool stuff will get a dedicated post. Do I go top bottom, or bottom top? I guess we’ll find out. day 002 20250306 made this blog post (baby steps okay?) logged into one of my ingress boxes and looked at logs. 99% bot traffic. no surprise. one of my lanecloud hypervisor hosts has 550 days of uptime… that’s something I guess. started on an ansible role to add custom startup scripts to clammy-ng got distracted with some hugo theme tweaks that I couldn’t quite make work day 003 20250308 Ended up being kind of an Armbian Day
I'm late to the party, but might as well see if I can put some energy into the #100daysofhomelab tag.
Im trying to be generous and just give myself credit for most flavors of productive computering.
Obligatory Day 1 post https://blog.lane-fu.com/posts/2025/03/100-days-of-homelab-delayed-start--day-1/
I’m 2 years late to the party for the whole #100daysofhomelab thing. That’s okay. I decided to start now because I have a huge homecloud and lanecloud backlog that just hasn’t moved forward. Additionally, I’m going to help host some more Armbian stuff in lanecloud, so I need to make good on my commitments. I figured interacting with Hugo was a good warm-up for a workday evening. I always have to kind of re-remember how to interact with it. I’m also not very good at image processing. So lets try that again.
I have a small #HomeLab which provides #Pihole, recursive #DNS via #unbound, #jellyfin, #nextcloud and ofcourse #backups for a variety of services which I host or manage.
I started #100DaysOfHomeLab on Jan 10 to get rid of all the #techdebt - streamlining scripts, ensuring backups, full disk encryption, getting more services running.
So far I have bought another 2TD HDD and trying to put my current setup into mirror #raid using #ZFS.
46/100 #100daysofhomelab
More tofu. My nodes now remove themselves from the cluster on destroy, which was one of those minor irritations I had before.
I would like to have some objects(provisionary isos downloaded and chucked to a datastore on up) avoid being destroyed, but haven't quite figured that out.
