Had such a wonderful experience this past Sunday gifting a 1000 origami cranes to a super cool local health store called Sunseed Co-op. They’ve been in business since 1974 and are awesome. They were psyched to receive the cranes, and said they’d give them out free to customers. Today I received this sweet email from them. Made me smile huge and tear up a bit too.

This is the design of the paper I’m using to fold the next flight of 40 origami cranes. The yellow center of this cute succulent will appear on the top back of each crane. Have folded 920 cranes so far using various colorfully designed paper. Once 1000 cranes are created and gifted to my friend, I will have reached my goal of creating a Japanese senbazuru for them wishing them peace and happiness.

Folding 40 of these beauties today. Should hit my 1000 origami cranes goal within a week. An artist friend who owns a cool local cafe said she’d love to have them to string them for display. It’s a good day.

Thoroughly enjoying a project to fold 1000 origami cranes. Just finished the flight of peacock print cranes (far left). Completed 8 of 25 flights of 40 cranes. Not rushing at all. Debating between folding bright blue succulent or classic orange floral next. Also need to figure out where to store future flights...this is a guest bedroom..lol. They're just so pretty set out. Will open them once they’re ready to be strung…they take up less room unopened for now.
