We got a new cat the other day. We didn't really want the first cat, but Mio was moved to pick up the meowing, hissing, biting, scratching little monster out of our storage car-port sort-of area and then no-one volunteered to adopt what has now become Milky Way, or Milky the cat. Now the cat sleeps with us half the time and keeps the dog company and kill the cockroaches. Hopefully she'll start on mice soon, we've been losing some packages of food that have been gnawed on lately. We've seen her batting cockroaches around so I knew how to explain the one laying belly up on the Tatami the other morning. Why did it up and die here. (Might not have been dead, a few legs may have still been twitchign).. But then I noticed a leg and other parts strewn around the belly-up body so I guess it was Milky's entertanment earlier. Hopefully she won't do that with the chicks... But Mio had a cat person run over and advise when she first grabbed Milky. Now that cat person convinced her to take on this new foundling: now named Starry, to go with Milky Way and with the movie _Starry Sky_ in mind..

Nice to wake up to purring but things can get hectic too, ya know? And it's more shopping and wasting with the food, and the kitty litter... I really have to set aside some time to figure out how to get fish out of the nearby rivers and supplement the animal diets with local stuff, get closer to #身土不二 _Land and Body Not Parted_ for the animals too, at least....
