Manpuku-ji (萬福寺) in Uji, home to the Ōbaku Zen sect (黄檗宗), was founded in 1661 by the Chinese monk Yinyuan Longqi (隱元隆琦 aka Ingen Ryūki 1592-1673). It is considered to be Japan's greatest Chinese-style temple.

Being back in Japan means more opportunities to participate in certain tea events. This month I was able to assist to a moon viewing Sencha ceremony gathering at Manpuku-ji.

On Saturday 7th of October, I had the opportunity to assist at a moon-viewing sencha ceremony at Manpukuji Temple 萬福寺 in Uji 宇治. The event was organized by the Japan Senchado Federation, which organizes other related events during the year at Manpukuji temple and sometimes other major cities like Tokyo.
