A friend mentioned picking Chinese back up recently, so I’ve been preparing for when I have the ability and inclination to do the same. To that end, today I decided to get acquainted with 注音符號 (ㄓㄨˋㄧㄣ ㄈㄨˊㄏㄠˋ or zhùyīn fúhào）.
Not only does it make sense given my interest in Traditional Chinese characters, but it also seems like it will have utility in general, in part because I can focus more on recognizing 拼音（ㄆㄧㄣㄧㄣ or pīnyīn) than on its spelling quirks when trying to learn or remember how to pronounce something. #中文 #LanguageLearning
