A sign from the 1930s in #Istanbul, signed ‘Leon,’ belonging to dentist Nerses Haçaduryan, demonstrating how far a craftsman’s skill could extend. The half-face, half-skeleton composition is constructed with reference to jaw anatomy; the placement of the teeth and bone structure appears deliberate. It is clear that the craftsman was not unfamiliar with medical illustration.
