La rubrique « L’éruption » revient sur la catastrophe du Nevado del Ruiz, qui frappa la Colombie en 1985. Une éruption pourtant mineure, mais qui fit fondre le glacier sommital du volcan, générant des lahars (coulées de boue volcaniques) qui ensevelirent plusieurs villes. Avec environ 25 000 morts, il s’agit de la deuxième éruption la plus meurtrière du xxᵉ siècle. Nous revenons sur les facteurs, notamment humains, ayant causé ce drame largement évitable. ⬇️

Après deux recensions d’ouvrages récemment parus, quelques pages sont consacrées à l’actualité éruptive du premier trimestre 2026. On revient notamment sur l’éruption du Piton de la Fournaise, mais aussi sur des épisodes éruptifs au Kīlauea (Hawaï), au Manaro Voui (Vanuatu), au Nyamulagira (république démocratique du Congo) et à El Chichon (Mexique). Sans oublier les explosions spectaculaires de deux volcans de boue. ⬇️
