Later in the day yesterday when it was more safe, we packed up Indy and brought him to Volcano House to get a different angle of the eruption. He was very popular with the tourists!

Holy cow things are intense here at Volcanoes National Park. Pele is going off! The park is closed and evacuated (except for those of us at Kilauea Military Camp). Tephra everywhere. Indy did not get to see Pele today as we deemed it was too dangerous for him to go outside with everything going on. What an experience!
