There are around 100,000,000 or more people in the United States who are opposed to immigrants. By doing stupid things like this, they are creating the conditions for a scenario in which over 200,000,000 immigrants may attempt to enter the United States, and when a group of people this size tries to get in, you can't really do anything to stop it.

I want to explicitly state that #Ukraine destruction of #Russia's #oil #infrastructure is a /good/ thing. The stored oil would have been burned eventually anyway, and destroying the capacity to refine and transport oil disrupts the system.

When the resulting shortages become the new default, people will make do or do without.

Wood harvesting and forest management are depleting carbon storage. Old-growth forests in Sweden store ~72% more carbon than the industrial tree plantations that are rapidly replacing them, with soil accounting for most of the difference.
