"Climate change is increasing the risk of wildfires as precipitation patterns change and vegetation becomes drier in parts of the world.

Regions such as South America and Oceania are expected to face especially elevated risks of burning. Fires in high-latitude areas of the Northern Hemisphere are also projected to increase rapidly in the future, although they’ve historically been rare in these regions."

Scientists forecast wildfire risk for species survival under climate change

A new study warns climate change could increase the global area susceptible to wildfires in the future, putting many more species at risk than today. Previous research has shown that climate change is increasing the risk of wildfires as precipitation patterns change and vegetation becomes drier in parts of the world. Researchers have now projected […]

BILLIONAIRES NEED #AI FOR #ECOCIDE

because ecocide is #genocide at a mass scale.

#techbros are a malthusian death cult. instead of letting go of their billions to end poverty, they want to exterminate most of us because we are an “overpopulation” problem.

no, it doesn't make sense for these people to accelerate the #GlobalWarming environmental collapse scientists been warning for decades. it will affect them too.

they believe they will survive.

that’s why all death cults are suicidal.

@takeitev The criminalization of entrenching fossil fuels as a root infrastructure monopoly, started soon after industrialization. Exxon had an independent study done on the effects of burning fossil fuels, and it found #GreenhouseGases accelerating in our atmosphere, to an unsustainable ratio... DECADES ago. More solid science has proved this out, time after time, yet Western Capitalism, along with nihilistic Communism, have virtually condemned future generations to a world of Hell, all the while profiting on genocidal insanity.

The problem is not that there is a lack of money, food, water or land. The problem is we’ve given control of these lands to psychopaths.

We lose 137 species EVERY DAY due to deforestation.

That’s over 50,000 a year — gone forever. Not just trees. Entire nations erased.

@2003MugishaPhocit I'm not challenging this, but I'd really like to have the source for this.
So far I only saw this: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2026/04/260417224454.htm but there the link isn't established…yet.

Obviously if you eat a lot of veg, you should be very strict about avoiding pesticides. If your veg causes #ecocide you're not #vegan . But I'd like to have another solid argument.

Eating more fruits and vegetables tied to unexpected lung cancer risk

A surprising new study suggests that eating a very healthy diet—packed with fruits, vegetables, and whole grains—might be linked to a higher risk of lung cancer in younger non-smokers. Researchers found that patients under 50 diagnosed with lung cancer often had better-than-average diets, raising the possibility that pesticide exposure from conventionally grown produce could be a hidden culprit.
